5 Thing You Must Do After Setting Your Goal

Okay, so you have a goal in mind and have taken action to figure out what you want.
Good!

Now, let’s focus on the next step. There are five keys you will want to take action on right now as you begin to think about achieving your goal.

#1 – Have One Focus Goal

I ask many people what their goal is and they will pull out a sheet of paper with ten things on it. Then when I ask them what they are putting their actions toward, they give me a blank stare! It’s great to have your list of things you want to do, be, and have and I highly encourage it. In fact, I teach that as the beginning step to goal achieving.

But, as you narrow down to the one goal that “sets you on fire” you will marshal all your energy toward that destination. Think about it in terms of the sun and a magnified glass. When you put a magnified glass in front of all the sun’s powerful energy, it significantly changes the magnified power of the sun. You may even be able to burn things with it. Your thoughts are like the sun and when you use your will power, like the magnified glass, you marshal all your energy and increase its power.

You might be asking, “but I want all the goals on my list.” Well when you accomplish your one big, worthy goal, all other goals are accomplished as a “side effect”.

You can even have a main goal in each area of life – health, wealth, family, etc. But we focus on those big, main goals, not the large list of stuff to do, be, and have.

#2 – Place A Date on Your Goal

When do you want your goal to be accomplished? When will you get there?

Setting a date for your goal will tell you how much action is needed today. If you have a goal of making $10,000 per month in your business, with no date in mind, how do you know how much preparation and action to take today?

And if you think you will accomplish your goal in 20 years, then today and tomorrow doesn’t seem to matter as much.

So, set a date on your goal to motivate and inspire you to take action and feel that your goal is close. Also – a quick note – your guessing at the date most times. So do your best to guess at a date and revise as needed.

#3 – Put Your Goal in Present Tense

It’s best to put your goal in present tense. Meaning, you can use a phrase like, “I am so happy and grateful now that…”

Why?

Whatever you affirm will become truth. If you have no money, and you keep saying it like it is, you will attract more of the same. If you have no money, but say that you are wealthy and have more money pouring in, you will start to attract new circumstances. Now, it’s a bit more in depth than that, but at least you get the concept.

Your subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between what is real (physical fact) and what is imagined (only a picture in your mind). If you want to learn more about this, I would recommend Thomas Troward’s work, as he explains why this is.

So, for now, if you just accept this as true, your subconscious mind doesn’t know if your goal is here or not. By saying it in the present tense, you start to move toward that direction.

Again – note – there is a lot more that goes into this, but for now try to understand the technique first.

#4 – Be Grateful for Your Goal

We say, “I am so happy and grateful now that…” because we want to be thankful to have what we want come into physical form.

Gratitude is the language of the Universe. It’s the opposite of complaining. If we complain about anything, we attract more of that negative energy. If we are grateful for what we have and for what will be, it’s a powerful process to attract new, positive circumstances.

#5 – Put Your Goal into One Flowing Sentence

Many times, we try and write paragraphs about our goal because we have so much detail surrounding what we want. That’s a good thing!

To simplify the process and to be more efficient at saying it out loud as many times a day (which I recommend that you do), put your goal into one inspiring sentence.

An example would be, “I am so happy and grateful now that I earn $25,000 per month in my business, which means I helping service the world through my wonderful products.”

If you take action on these five keys, you will be in a perfect position to accomplish everything you deeply desire, I am certain about it!
