5 Keys To Self Motivation

How do you 'STAY MOTIVATED'?

This simple 5-Step Process can absolutely help.

I posted something very similar over the summer, but there have been a lot of people asking me about this topic, so here it is again!

Motivation isn't necessarily external, meaning you don't need to have someone else "motivate" you .

Motivation is a state of mind and comes from within.

And you can stay in that state of mind every day, even when challenges and things come up.

5-Step Process to create that motivation state of mind:


✅ (1) Have a BIG IDEA you are going after!

Energy comes from Desire. The more desire you have, the more energy you have. Desire unlocks the energy within.

When someone is low on energy every day, they usually have low desire for what they are doing that day.

To unlock desire, we must be consumed with a BIG IDEA that excites and scares us. That big idea is something we really, really want.

So the first step is to DECIDE on what BIG IDEA you are going after (your impact, working on a big vision, complete freedom, your business goal, etc).



When you start to think about the big idea every day, you start to get "emotionally involved" with it...

...you start to get exhilarated by your future reality, you start living on purpose, you feel fulfilled serving others.

Emotional involvement (feeling what it would feel like as if that BIG IDEA is already a reality) lodges the idea into the subconscious mind.

And whatever is impressed upon the subconscious, must be expressed into physical reality!

Our automatic actions and behaviors throughout the day come almost entirely from ideas in our subconscious. If we put our big idea into the subconscious, then we will feel the motivation of that idea.


✅ (3) REPETITION of the BIG IDEA every day.

Write out the BIG IDEA in the present tense as if it is already completed, write it out a few times in the morning and again at night.

Make a recording of the BIG IDEA and listen to it every day.

Affirm it out loud with your own voice, feel as if it is already complete.

The more repetition, the more you get EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED with it.

The more repetition, the more the idea gets stuck in your mind.

The more repetition, the more continuous motivation.


✅ (4) Take action from there by SERVING PEOPLE

The BIG IDEA without your action won't go anywhere.

You want to act on the idea every day, serving people the best you can.

Increase your (1) Quality and (2) Quantity of service every week, finding ways to better serve every day and implementing those ideas right away.

We often will do more for others than we do for ourselves (if we still have that habit), so your energy will start to grow as you focus on helping people in a greater way.


✅ (5) Follow steps 1-4 EVERY DAY

Now since motivation is a state of mind, whatever state of mind that is practiced every day will become a habit.

So, motivation won't last if you don't "water" it every day with Steps 1 - 4 above.

It's like taking a shower... you being clean doesn't usually last more than a day! So what do you do? Take a shower EVERY DAY (at least I hope you do...).

Same goes for a "STATE OF MIND", it must be "watered" every day.


Heck of a long post! But highly important. When you are motivated, you do a lot of good.

And you are ready to crush it every day, every week, every month, every year.

When you are lethargic, you barely do anything.

Remember, it's a state of mind WITHIN.
